What is Mentorship?
Mentorship is a relationship between mentor and mentee.
Mentee: A person who is looking for guidance, training, advice, or counseling from someone. A person who wants to explore, understand, improve themselves to become a better version of themselves. A believer in learning from others' experiences and in taking guidance in order to find their own path of excellence.
Mentor: An experienced person who use their experience to guide and nurtures the development of another person. A mentor can be a role model, sounding board, voice of reason, counselor, and trusted advisor. Each of these qualities is self-sufficient for someone to be a Mentor. A mentor is anyone to whom you look up to and want to learn from them.
Relationship: Mentoring is a positive and supportive relationship, encouraging the mentee to develop to their full potential. It is a relationship that is trustworthy, open, honest, and respectful. Mentorship is about learning from others’ experiences and developing a belief in yourself. Both mentor and mentee learn from each other, but the focus is on the development and growth of the mentee.
